Belgian Waffles
Belgian Waffles
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup (75g) Røros Butter
6.6 oz buttermilk
6.6 oz water
1 standard packet dry yeast
8.8 oz (250g) plain flour
melted butter to grease the pan
Directions:
- Whisk together egg yolks, salt, sugar and vanilla extract.
- Stir in melted butter and buttermilk
- Mix together the yeast and water (room temperature)
- Mix in the flour, mix until fully combined and lump free.
- Let the batter swell for an hour.
- Beat egg whites until stiff and carefully fold them into the batter using a spatula
- Grease the waffle iron with butter, and cook the waffles until golden.
